Erik Westrum is a former professional hockey player, motivational speaker, leadership coach, entrepreneur, and author of Becoming Elite: What It Takes To Transform Your Life Using the 4 Proven Pillars of Performance. With a lifelong passion for helping others, Erik has dedicated his life to serving as a mentor and leader, guiding individuals, families, and organizations to reach their full potential.
In his keynote, Erik shares the transformative role fathers and male mentors play in the lives of young girls. Drawing on relatable stories, biblical wisdom, and the principles of Becoming Elite and 1% Impact, he demonstrates how simple, consistent actions can build confidence, identity, and emotional strength in daughters. His message is both a tribute to every daughter and a call to parents and leaders to raise strong girls who know their worth, live with courage, and shine in a world that desperately needs them.
After a 12-year professional hockey career, Erik earned his MBA from the Carlson School of Management to further equip himself to help leaders and organizations grow. Over the past 20+ years, he has consulted, coached, and conducted workshops for hundreds of people, refining the principles and processes that underpin Becoming Elite.
Erik lives in Prior Lake, Minnesota, with his wife, Kelly, and their four children, Luke, Ethan, Isabella, and Evelina. He continues to guide athletes, leaders, and anyone striving to improve their life, helping them make meaningful, lasting shifts and walk confidently on their journey to becoming their best selves.
